Description
Newland House is a house built around 1820-1830, located on the south side of Oxford Road in Witney. The front is made of limestone ashlar, while the sides and rear are constructed from coursed rubble. It features a gabled stone-coped Welsh slate roof with brick stacks at each end. The house has a double-depth plan and stands three storeys tall with a symmetrical three-window layout.
The entrance includes a six-panelled door with an overlight, framed by a wooden architrave with panelled reveals and a bracketed flat hood. The windows have keyed raised architraves and consist of six-pane sashes on the ground and first floors, with three-pane sashes in the attic. There is a raised storey band and a bracketed cornice above the sash window located over the door. The eaves are overhanging and also bracketed. To the left, there is a similar two-storey bay featuring six-pane and ten-pane sashes. The rear of the house has stone stacks. The interior has not been inspected.
