Description
South Lodge is a lodge to Benacre Hall, built in the early to mid-19th century. It is constructed of pale yellow brick with a slated roof and is a single-storey building. The lodge has a symmetrical design with a front range facing the drive and two attached wings that are set back. The facade features five bays arranged in a 1:3:1 pattern, with the bays separated by brick pilasters. The central bays include a prostyle pedimented portico supported by four heavy stucco columns. The lodge has inset sash windows with slender glazing bars and raised wooden surrounds, along with a six-panel entrance door. There is an internal stack in the front range and external stacks on the rear wings.
