Description

Moat Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the 16th to 17th century. It is constructed from timber framing and plaster, with some areas featuring red brick casing. The roof is pantiled, with concrete tiles on the rear. The building has two storeys and attics, consisting of a main range with cross wings at each end, and the north cross wing extends to the rear. There are various 19th-century casement windows, and the main range has a lobby entrance with a mid-20th-century door. On the north side of the north wing, there is a doorway featuring a late 18th-century eight-panel raised and fielded door, with the upper two panels glazed, along with a broad architrave, convex frieze, and cornice. The main range has an internal stack, while the north wing has a gable end stack. Attached to the north wing is an early 18th-century single-storey brick extension that has a moulded cornice.
