Description
Grove Farmhouse is a farmhouse that has been converted into two dwellings. It dates from the 16th to 17th century on the left side, featuring a short main range and a projecting cross wing, with a later addition to the right of the cross wing. The building is timber framed and plastered, with some brick casing, and the roof is covered in corrugated iron sheeting. It has two storeys and an attic in the cross wing. The property includes various 19th and 20th century casement windows and three 20th century doors. There is an internal stack in the earlier part of the house, which has been rebuilt in yellow brick, and a similar but smaller stack in the later range. The roof at the end of the later range has been lowered. The earlier section displays some exposed framing and joists, along with a blacked mullioned window and a blocked arched doorway in the cross wing. At the time of the survey, this part of the house was semi-derelict.
