Description
This barn, located 50 meters north-north-east of Weston Hall, has a core that dates back to the 16th century, with significant later rebuilding. It is timber-framed and covered with weatherboarding. The roof features both thatch and corrugated iron. The structure is somewhat complex and altered, consisting of seven bays that appear to have been built in three phases, with joins between bays one and two, and three and four, counting from the west. Bays one to three are partitioned off and floored over, concealing the structure on the ground floor, while bay seven is also partitioned. Inside, there are three queen post roof trusses, which are not all located in the same section, and much of the roof has been largely rebuilt. Some good studding with arched corner braces remains in the westernmost bay. The barn is included for its group value.
