Description
Hill Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the 16th century, built in two phases, with the left section likely being the later addition. There is a 19th-century wing at the rear. The building is constructed of red brick, featuring a plain tiled roof at the front and a pantiled roof at the rear. It has two storeys and attics, with three mid-20th century mullion and transom casements that have imitation diamond-leaded glazing. Above the ground floor windows, there are moulded brick pediments. The central doorway has a mid-20th century plank door, and the pediment above it was restored in the mid-20th century. The farmhouse has crow-stepped gable ends with integral stacks, one of which has moulded brickwork at its base. Inside, the left ground floor room features an open fireplace and exposed floor structure. The room above contains some painted 17th-century panelling and an 18th-century bolection-moulded fireplace with a mid-19th century grate.
