Description
Park Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the early 19th century for the front block, while the rear range incorporates work from the 16th century but has undergone considerable alterations. The front range is constructed of pale yellow brick and features a roof covered with modern concrete slates. The rear range is timber framed, roughcast-rendered, and has a black pantiled roof. The building is two storeys high with a symmetrical facade that includes pilaster strips at the quoins and the narrower central bay. It has three inset sash windows with glazing bars, all set under flat brick arches. The doorway is situated within a semi-circular arched recess and features a four-panel door with roundels in the centre rail, topped by a semi-circular fanlight with radiating glazing bars. The rear range includes mid-20th century casement windows and a heavy internal stack. One ground floor room in the rear range retains heavy unchamfered joists from the early 16th century, and there is some exposed framing on the first floor. The 19th-century block has reeded door surrounds with carved embellishments at the corners.
