Description
The building is a house and shop owned by Mr. S J Collett, located to the south of Brook House on Hall Street in Long Melford. It was formerly known as The Pharmacy. This brick house, which is painted, is built on an L-shaped plan with wings extending to the south and east. It features late 19th-century external characteristics and stands two storeys high with attics. The main block has a two-window range, and the east wing includes a two-storeyed canted bay. The windows are double-hung sashes with single vertical glazing bars. At the south end, there is a modern shop front. The entrance features a six-panel door with a rectangular fanlight, flanked by pilasters and topped with a cornice. The roof is tiled, with gabled dormers adorned with ornamental bargeboards on the main block and additional ornamental bargeboards on the gable of the east wing.
