Description

The Church of St Peter and St Paul is a Grade I listed building, primarily dating from the 15th century. It features a large west tower, nave, and chancel, constructed from flint and stone rubble. The west tower is divided into three stages and is supported by diagonal buttresses, topped with a castellated parapet. The south porch, dating from around 1450 and restored in 1913, includes two moulded and castellated beams with crown posts and a moulded wall plate. The south door, from approximately 1430, is intricately carved with Tudor roses, foliage, and a pomegranate in the moulding. Inside, there is a 15th-century font and a 17th-century octagonal pulpit. On the north wall of the nave, remnants of a 16th-century wall painting of St Christopher can be found, although it is now nearly illegible. The church is recognized for its architectural and historical significance.
