Description

Tallage is a 17th-century timber-framed and plastered house that has undergone 19th-century and later alterations. It is believed that a building on this site was once the toll cottage for the Manor of Alpheton. The house has one storey and attics, featuring a three-window range with modern casements. A gabled porch projects from the front, and the roof is thatched, complemented by three 19th-century gabled dormers with tiled roofs. Both the dormers and the porch have shaped bargeboards.
