Description
Clapstile Farmhouse is a 15th-century hall house that has undergone alterations in the 16th and 17th centuries. It features a timber-framed and plastered structure, with two storeys and a four-window range on the west front, which includes 20th-century casement windows. A modern gabled porch projects from the front, and there is a later wing extending to the east at the rear. The roof is tiled and includes a 16th-century chimney stack with four grouped octagonal shafts, which have been shortened at the top and rest on a square base. Inside, the farmhouse showcases exposed timber framing, beams, and ceiling joists.
