Description
Millhill Farmhouse is a 15th to 16th century timber-framed and plastered house, originally designed as a hall house, featuring a cross wing at the west end. The building underwent renovation and restoration in the 20th century, which included modern panel pargetting in traditional patterns on a brick base. It has two storeys and 20th century casement windows, some of which are set in original window openings that include internal shutter grooves. The roof is tiled, and at the west end, there is a large external chimney stack with tabled offsets, with the base being original.
Inside, the farmhouse showcases very heavy, closely spaced timber framing. Both the main block and the cross wing include tie beams with braced crown posts. Additionally, at the east end, there is a well-preserved 16th to 17th century timber-framed barn that has been incorporated into the house, featuring modern brick facing and a pantiled roof.
