Description

The war memorial in East Bergholt was built in 1921 by F.C. Eden. It is made of Clipsham ashlar and takes the form of a wayside cross. The memorial features a small gabled crucifix that is supported by an octagonal shaft, which has a carved foliage band at the top. The shaft rises from a stepped base and pedestal that includes inscriptions honoring those who died in both World Wars. This memorial is part of a group with the Church of St. Mary the Virgin.
