Description

The Sotterley War Memorial is a war memorial built around 1920, made of stone ashlar. It takes the form of a wayside cross and is set on a stepped plinth. The shaft and cross at the top are octagonal in shape, possibly reflecting the octagonal design of the nearby cemetery chapel. This well-detailed memorial commemorates the First World War and forms a cohesive group with the cemetery chapel at a rural crossroads.
