Description
Moat Farmhouse is a farmhouse dated 1636 on the chimney panel, with an 18th-century dairy wing set back to the right. It is timber framed with modern roughcast render and a slated roof. The building has two storeys and an attic, featuring a symmetrical facade with three windows that are 19th-century two-light mullion and transom casements. There is a central mid-19th-century gabled porch with ornamental bargeboards, leading to a four-centre arched boarded and battened door. Inside, there is a central internal stack with three inset brick panels; the two outer panels contain weathered plaster tablets with a lion rampant, while the central panel displays the date. The two ground floor rooms have ovolo-moulded floorbeams.
