Description
Field Farmhouse is a 17th-century farmhouse constructed with a timber frame, modern textured render, and a thatched roof. The building has two storeys and an attic, featuring a three-cell layout. The left-hand cell, which serves as the parlour, was added later and has eaves that are slightly higher than the rest of the structure. The façade includes various windows, with 20th-century casements, and the doorway has been relocated to the rear. Inside, there is a heavy internal stack, and the first floor reveals some exposed framing, original floorboarding, and newel stairs. A mid-20th-century pantiled addition is located on the right side of the farmhouse. At the rear, there is a small thatched outbuilding, likely also from the 17th century, which was originally timber framed but has been rebuilt in 19th-century brick.
