Description

Number 96 on High Street is a building that may date back to the 17th century but has undergone significant alterations in the 18th and 19th centuries. It is a two-storey structure with a timber frame and plastered exterior, topped with a slate roof. The front of the building has been raised and likely once projected further out. It features a five-window range with flush frame sash windows that include glazing bars. The ground floor has a wooden shop front, consisting of a double bay with a central door, which has been considerably modified and is currently used as a surgery. This building is included for its group value with the other numbered properties on High Street, specifically Nos 96 to 130 (even).
