Description
This is a timber-framed and plastered hall house, likely dating from the 15th century. It features cross wings to the north and south. Originally, the upper storeys of these cross wings projected to the front, but they have since been incorporated into the main structure. The windows are predominantly flush-frame sash windows with glazing bars, with some 3-light mullion casements in the south cross wing. Remnants of 17th-century pargeting, displaying a spiral floral pattern, are visible on the front of the main block. Each gable of the cross wings features a Tudor rose, royal arms, and a cartouche. The north gable displays the date 1618. The house extends with a two-window wing to the north and a wing to the west at the rear. The property is part of a group which includes numbers 61 to 107 (odd) on High Street.
