Description

The King's Head Inn is a building dating from the 16th century and later. It has a U-shaped design with wings extending to the east. The front and most of the ground floor were rebuilt in brick during the 18th century. The inn is two stories tall, with a timber frame and plastered exterior, and the roofs are covered with tiles and slates. The front features painted brick with a moulded cornice and a six-window range, which includes flush frame sash windows with modern glazing bars. The ground floor has two doorways that are framed with enriched wood cases. The timber framing is visible in the upper storeys of the eastern wings. The King's Head Inn, along with Nos 72 to 88 (even), forms a group.
