Description

Bugdon House is an early 18th-century house located on Bridge Street in Loddon. It is constructed of red brick with a steep black glazed pantile roof and coped gable ends. The building has two storeys and originally had six windows; two on each floor are now blocked. The windows are two-light wood mullion/transom casements, with a modern window on the first floor to the right. A pilastered doorcase is positioned off-centre to the right, featuring an open pediment, a semi-circular fanlight with radial bars, and a fielded panel door. A string course runs at floor level and rises over the doorway and brick corner pilasters. At the rear is a wing dating from the late medieval or 16th century, originally timber frame but now encased in red brick, with a steep pantile roof, coped gable end, two storeys, and an attic. The wing also features brick chimney stacks.
