Description

The building comprises former farm cottages, originally a farmhouse, dating to the late 17th and early 18th centuries. It is set back from the road in the village of Loddon. The main structure is built of red brick with blue headers, incorporating a moulded brick string course at floor level. It has a steep black glazed pantile roof with coped gables, the south gable being shaped. The fenestration consists of six windows, featuring old two-light wood mullion/transom casements with flat brick arches. The first-floor window to the left of centre is blocked. A wide panelled door is set within a heavy doorcase, which has a large rectangular two-light fanlight above. Brick chimney stacks are also present.

A rear wing possesses double gables. A further wing, projecting to the street on the right (north-east) and dated to the early 19th century, is constructed of red brick with a black glazed pantile roof and a gable facing the street. This wing has two storeys and features a first-floor sash window with glazing bars, a ground-floor four-light wood mullion/transom window with a cambered head, and a flush panel door.
