Description
The Swan Inn is a public house dating from the 18th century, built with red brick that encases an earlier structure, likely from the late medieval period. The building features a hipped roof covered with black glazed pantiles and has a modillion eaves cornice. It stands three storeys tall and has five windows, which are sash windows with glazing bars and flat brick arches.
The central entrance is a wide, restored doorway flanked by fluted pilasters and topped with a Doric entablature, leading to double doors with fielded panels. At the rear, there is another door with a moulded architrave, a pulvinated frieze, and a cornice. Additionally, there is a wing at the rear that has a plastered timber frame and painted brick, with a pantile roof featuring a gable end. This wing is two storeys high and includes an attic, with casement windows.
