Description
Oaklands Farmhouse is an early 19th-century farmhouse constructed of red brick with a smut pantile roof. It features two storeys and attics, with the rear having two storeys as well, and has an L-shaped plan. The symmetrical facade consists of three bays, with 3-light casement windows that have glazing bars. The ground floor windows are wider and have segmental arched heads, all of which are topped with gauged brick arches. The gables are parapeted and include internal chimney stacks with tumbling-in. There is an attic window in the west gable and a modillion eaves cornice. Each side of the house has a low screen wall with a lean-to behind it. At the rear, there is a lower service wing featuring casements with glazing bars and segmental heads for the ground floor openings. The chimney stacks are positioned off centre on the ridge line and at the north gable.
