Description
The Grove is a mid-19th century house located on Aldeby Station Road. It is constructed from gault brick and features a hipped slate roof. The building is two storeys high and has an L-shaped design with a symmetrical facade consisting of five bays. The windows are sashes with glazing bars and are topped with rubbed brick arches.
The central doorway is framed by a stone open-pedimented surround, which includes reeded pilasters and medallions in the frieze. The doorway itself has a panelled reveal and a six-panelled, two-leaf door, topped by a semicircular fanlight with decorative glazing bars. The eaves cornice is adorned with modillions.
There are two chimney stacks that are symmetrically placed behind the ridge line. At the rear, there is a lower gabled wing featuring plate glass sashes with stone cambered lintels above the openings. Additionally, there are two four-panelled entrance doors, one located in a small hipped projection at the angle of the building.
