Description
Grange Farm House is a farmhouse dating from around 1600. It features a brick and plastered timber frame, all of which is colourwashed, and has steeply-pitched pantile roofs. The building is two storeys high, with 2 and a half storey cross wings. There is later double pile infill between the cross wings at the rear. The cross wings have four three-light casements with pediments facing south, and stepped gable parapets with moulded brick kneelers. There are large external chimney stacks on the east and west sides, with the eastern stack having octagonal chimney shafts on moulded brick base courses and tiled offsets.
The central range is two storeys tall and features two and three-light casements with a transom. There is an off-centre doorway on the right side with a classical doorcase and a later half-glazed door. A platband runs at floor level, and there are two ridge chimney stacks symmetrically placed. The return wall to the east has blocked ground and first floor window openings, while the west wall has sashes with glazing bars. The double pile wing to the north also has sashes with glazing bars, and there is a single storey lean-to in the north-east angle.
