Description

These shops with living accommodation above date probably to the late medieval period, but were heightened and given an 18th-century front. A datestone reading "1604 IFM" is visible on the front. The building is roughcast with a slate roof featuring gabled ends and bracketed eaves. It is three storeys high with a four-window front, displaying sash windows with glazing bars. Two doorways are pilastered and topped with entablatures and cornices, each containing a flush panel door. Number 15 has a small 19th-century pilastered shop window with a dentilled cornice. Number 19 has a larger 20th-century projecting shop front. Brick chimney stacks are present, with a large external brick stack on the north end.
