Description

This is a shop with living accommodation above, dating back to around 1600. The original timber-framed structure was refronted in the early 19th century and has a late 19th-century shop front, with later 20th-century window replacements. The building is timber-framed, covered in stucco, and has a plaintiled roof with a red brick chimney on the right-hand ridge. It is two storeys high with two windows. There is a stuccoed moulded cornice. The original 19th-century sash windows have been replaced by late 20th-century wooden casements. The shop front features end pilasters and a simplified entablature.

Inside, two timber-framed bays from around 1600 remain, and these likely connected with number 58 Kingsbury. Visible features on the first floor include a tie beam in the west gable, a beam with a three-inch chamfer, and a jowled post in the centre of the original rear wall. A large blocked space on the east end of the ground and first floors is likely the site of an original chimney. A 19th-century staircase with stick balusters, cupboards, and a firegrate are also present.
