Description

This barn, located 100 meters south-west of The Normans, dates from the early 18th century and was reskinned in brick in the late 18th century. It features a thatched roof and has full height sliding timber doors on the north side, with four blocked slit ventilation lights on each side of the door. The barn has a gabled roof, and the opposing south doors are partly blocked with 20th-century brick, allowing only pedestrian access. Inside, there are deep internal splays to the slit lights. The roof structure consists of tie beams on knuckle braces, principals, two tiers of butt purlins, collars, and curved windbracing.
