Description
The barn at Normans Farm is an early 17th-century structure that features a timber frame clad in weatherboarding, with some brick nogging at the lower level, all resting on a low stone plinth. The barn has a tiled roof and is designed with three bays. Centrally located double doors rise to the eaves but have been replaced with corrugated iron. There is a small opening on the left side of the gable. The eaves are exposed, and the roof is hipped above the upper purlins. Inside, the framing consists of four panels high, with studs that are thicker than the rails. The main posts are jowelled, and braces extend up to the tie-beam. The trusses include collars and curved angle struts, with two pairs of purlins, and the original square ridge has been replaced with a plank. The gable truss is built up with vertical struts, resembling a wall. There is a timber lean-to on the left gable, but it is not of special interest.
