Description
No. 59 The Close is a house dating from the 16th century, with later alterations. It is constructed of flint and brick, featuring brick window dressings and a black pantile roof. The building has two storeys and two widely spaced first-floor windows. The right-hand door is off-centre and has a sunk torus moulding surround with a flat hood above it. To the left of the door, there are two mullion and transom windows, while to the right, there is a four-light casement window. The first floor has sash windows with glazing bars, and there is a box cornice. Additionally, there are two small dormers with sash windows and another box cornice. Inside, there is an 18th-century painted panel depicting a scene over the main fireplace.
