Description

No. 56 The Close is a house dating from the 16th century and later. It features a combination of flint and brick on the right, with central brick quoins and flint and brick chequer-work on the left. The building has a pantile roof and stands three storeys tall. The second floor has four irregularly spaced windows. There is a right-hand off-centre door that is sheltered by a porch supported on turned columns, with a simple door surround. The ground floor has casement windows with segmental arches and one sash window. The second floor includes two-light casement windows and one sash window to the right.
