Description

Terraced houses at 4 to 18 Mornington Road date from the early 20th century. They are built of red brick with roughcast and applied timber framing to the first floor. Each house is two storeys high with a single first-floor window. The front doors alternate between left-hand and right-hand sides and incorporate stained glass with a flowing motif. Each house features a single-storey bay window with a triple sash window, each of which has a segmental-arch top light. The flat roof of the bay extends to form a porch. At first floor, each house has a central triple sash window with a segmental-arch top light. "Elizabethan" decorative details include a continuous quatrefoil band below the windows. Triangular dormer gables are present above the windows, incorporating projecting bargeboards that continue into the eaves cornice. Decorative tiles are used on the dormer and roof ridge.
