Description

Nos. 1 to 5 on London Street is a department store built between 1903 and 1905 by Go Skipper, with later 20th-century alterations. The building is rendered and occupies a large corner site with four storeys. The elevation facing London Street features five bays plus a corner bay. It has a 20th-century shopfront with a canopy that extends across No. 7 London Street, and a corner entry. On the first floor, there are two large windows with semi-elliptical arches, which are decorated with egg and dart moulding and acanthus leaf keystones.
