Description
No. 60 on Thorpe Road is a house, now used as an office, built around 1840 with later alterations. The building features painted brick with a rendered plinth and a hipped slate roof. It is two storeys high and has two first-floor windows. The entrance consists of a 20th-century panelled door with a plain overlight, flanked by reeded pilasters and topped with a pedimented hood. There is a canted ground-floor bay added to the right. The first-floor windows are 16-pane sashes set under flat gauged brick arches. A paired modillion cornice adorns the top. To the left, there is a later 19th-century extension that includes 20th-century casements, an egg and dart cornice, a parapet, and one yellow brick chimney. The former No. 60A, which was listed with this property, has now been demolished.
