Description
No. 1 Bishopgate Street is a house, now used as offices, built around 1860 and altered in the 20th century. It is constructed of brick and features a hipped slate roof with a curved plan and a concave facade. The building has two storeys and three bays. The windows are sash style with brick flat arches above them. The central doorway is accessed by external stone steps that rest on a brick base. The doorcase includes panelled pilasters, panelled reveals, and a mutule cornice. The door itself has four glazed panels above two recessed panels, and there is a tall overlight with a central division. The timber gutter is supported by shaped brackets. There are chimneys located on the left, one behind the ridge to the left of center, and another behind the ridge towards the right. The interior has not been inspected.
