Description
Point Cottage is a mid-19th century house with later alterations, located on the north-west side of Ipswich Road. The building is constructed of painted brick and features a gable-fronted pantile roof, topped with a single red brick chimney. It is designed in the Victorian Gothic style and stands two storeys tall. There are two first-floor windows that are positioned at right angles to the street. The entrance is through a later single-storey wing to the left, which has a ribbed and studded door. One of the first-floor windows has lattice glazing bars, while the other windows are 20th-century casements, including a 20th-century bow window on the ground floor. Point Cottage is included for its group value as an extension to No. 2 Ipswich Road and No. 2 Newmarket Road.
