Description

No. 2 Newmarket Road is a house dating from the mid-19th century. It features a rendered plinth and painted brickwork, topped with a hipped pantile roof and two red brick chimneys. The building is two storeys high and has three symmetrical first-floor windows. The front door consists of six raised and fielded panels, with an overlight that has glazing bars and a simple doorcase supported by pilasters beneath a small flat hood. The windows are large paned sashes with horns, set within wooden architraves, and there is a box cornice. The left side elevation has a three-window range that connects with No. 2 Ipswich Road, which was originally part of the same property.
