Description
The Abbey Boundary Wall is located to the north between No 8 Common Place and Sunk Road, and also includes the wall to the north-east at the rear of Nos 8, 9, and 10 Common Place. This long wall is curved to follow the line of the road, except for the west end, which is at right angles to the road. The base at the east end is likely from the 18th century and was heightened to about 10 feet in the 19th century. The west end appears to be entirely from the 19th century and rises to about 20 feet, except for the extreme west end, which is probably from the 18th century or earlier, where it follows a line at right angles away from the road, immediately east of The Bull Inn in Common Place.
