Description
Merrisons Farm House, located 150 meters northwest of the Parish Church of St Peter and St Paul, is an 18th-century house constructed of brick and topped with black glazed pantiles. The building consists of a single range with three cells and stands two storeys high, featuring gable end stacks. The front has double sash windows with glazing bars, with three on the first floor; the positions of some windows have been altered, and there are blocked windows with colored headers. A plain platband and a dogs tooth cornice adorn the exterior. The central entrance is framed by a single-storey wooden porch that has fretwork barge boards. The right gable is made of flint with brick dressings. At the rear, there is a continuous outshut raised to two storeys, also made of flint with brick dressings, and it has an oversailing cornice with 20th-century casement windows. Inside, there is a timber-framed partition between the central and right-hand bays, with curved braces on the first floor. The right-hand room features a segmental moulded fireplace arch and bar stopped chamfered beams.
