Description

SCOTTOW TG 22 SE 7/10 Colks Farm House - GV II Farmhouse, early C18 and later, with earlier C17 core. Red brick and pan- tiles. 2 storeys, with single storey outshut, converted to 1 1/2 storeys, C20 2 storey extension to north and single storey C20 lean to extension to south and C19 axial extension to east, forming L-shaped plan. 2 storey wing, principal facade to south with off-centre extrance door. Lower half of west gable wall of flint with plinth and probably C17. Upper half has moulded platband, blocked windows with hood moulds, and 2 small niches at attic level. End stack with string course, and 2 rebuilt round brick shafts. Windows to south C20 casements in original openings with segmental brick arches. South western quarter of facade has brick plinth with moulded brick plinth bricks and platband at first floor level. Remainder of facade late C18, with brick corbel eaves. Line of earlier gable visible in east gable. C20 gabled dormers in outshut. C20 entrance door and pedimented doorcase. Parapet gables, off-centre axial stack and east gable stack.
