Description
Fole Farmhouse is a farmhouse with a core dating from the 17th century, featuring late 18th century additions and early 19th century refacing. The later sections are built of red brick, while the 17th century gable is made of coursed stone. The roof is covered with fish-scale tiles over the 19th century refacing and has a tiled roof on the 18th century wing, which includes verge parapets. The building has an L-shaped plan and an early 19th century main front with two windows, which are offset to the left. The windows are glazing bar sashes with painted wedged heads, and the entrance, located between the windows, has a moulded surround and cornice, leading to a six-panel door. To the right, there is a projecting gable that is taller and features raised bands at ceiling levels, with two small segmental-headed attic windows flanking the stack. The left-hand gable is from the 17th century and has a 19th century raised eaves line, a string at first floor level, and a plinth. Above is a labelled, three-light chamfered mullion window in the attic, which is situated over a similar four-light window.
