Description
Rectory Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the late 17th century or early 18th century, with late 18th-century additions and mid-19th-century alterations. It is constructed of red brick sitting on a moulded stone plinth, featuring a raised stone band at the first-floor level and quoins on the left side. The roof is tiled with a steep pitch, adorned with a moulded stone eaves band and a verge parapet on the left, which has a ball finial on the kneeler. The building has two storeys and an attic, with a five-window front. There is one dormer, likely part of the original five windows, located on the right with a hipped roof and casement. The ground floor features cross casements with gauged brick heads, two of which have been replaced; to the right of centre is a 16-pane glazing bar sash, and to the left is the entrance. The right-hand bay has a steep stone moulded pediment above a partially glazed door. There is also a lower two-storey addition to the right, extending two-thirds the length of the main facade, which has a steeply pitched roof and dentilled eaves course, with two widely spaced windows.
