Description
Scottow Hall is a house from the late 18th century, constructed of rendered brick with a slate roof. It stands two storeys tall and features a south facade with five bays, where the central three bays are recessed. The entrance includes a later central stone doorcase topped with an open segmental pediment supported by console brackets, leading to a nine-panel door with an overlight. The windows are sash style with glazing bars, and the building has projecting plain boxed eaves.
To the east, there is a range of thirteen bays, highlighted by a Gothic two-storey canted bay in the center, which features window heads with four-centred arches and hood moulds. The remaining windows are also sash style, with some pilasters present. The west facade is asymmetrical with seven bays, where most windows are sash with glazing bars. The left side has two upper four-light windows that include mullions and a transom.
Access to the portico is via four steps leading to the sixth bay, which is supported by two half-fluted Doric columns. The architrave includes guttae, and the frieze features triglyphs and metopes, topped with a plain projecting cornice that has coffering. The entrance door is from the 20th century.
