Description

Suffield War Memorial is a First World War memorial that was erected around 1920. It is made of grey granite and is located in the churchyard of St Margaret’s Church in Suffield Common, Norfolk. The memorial is prominently positioned near the east window of the church. It features a rough-hewn wheel-head cross on a plinth with a two-stepped base. The plinth has inscriptions in leaded lettering, which read: "TO THE GLORY OF GOD/ AND IN MEMORY OF/ THE MEN FROM SUFFIELD WHO FELL DURING/ THE GREAT WAR, A.D. 1914 – 1919/ (NAMES)/ THEIR NAME LIVETH FOR EVERMORE."
