Description
EDGEFIELD TG 03 NE 2/13 Edgefield Hall II Farmhouse, c1600 and later, on moated site, moat to south. Two ranges of 2 storeys; west range C17/18, flint with brick dressings and pantile roof; east range c1880, brick with pantile roof. West facade of 6 bays and two storeys: forward projecting wing to left, and bays 2 and 3 rendered; sashes; bays 5 and 6 in flint with brick dressings; dentil cornice; C20 casements to ground and first floor in bay 5, C20 ground floor double-leaved french glazed window, tripartite sash above. Large projecting 3 storey gabled porch to bay 4, c1600, remnant of former house; clasping polygonal buttresses ending in tall octagonal shafts with oversailing caps; finial to porch gable similar but shorter. Buttress plinths capped with moulded bricks covered with lead having mid C18 graffitti; 4-centred arch, blank plaque above, first floor has C20 steel framed 3-light casement and blocked window to right return, blocked 2nd floor window. Right hand gable renewed c1880. Shorter east range, c1880, of 4 bays: 4 windows on each floor, tripartite sashes, sash, and sashes with marginal lights. Gabled single storey brick porch to 2nd bay.
