Description
Abbey Farmhouse is an 18th-century house located on Sheringham Road in East Beckham. It is built of Flemish bond brick with black headers and features a smut pantile roof. The house has a three-cell plan with an outshut at the rear. The facade is two storeys high and consists of four bays. It has 19th-century casement windows fitted into earlier openings, which are topped with flat rubbed brick arches. The entrance is marked by a six-panel door, with the top two panels being glazed, located in the second bay. This door is framed by a doorcase with pilasters that support a flat hood. A moulded brick platband runs along the facade, and the gables have parapets. There are gable-end stacks. To the right, there is a 19th-century extension that is not of special interest.
