Description
The outbuilding at Abbey Farm is a Grade II listed farm building, likely a stable with a hayloft above, dating from the 18th century. It is constructed of brick and has a single bay plan, with 19th and 20th century buildings attached. The structure is two storeys high. On the west side, there is a large doorway that is now blocked, set under a segmental arch. The building features a platband and honeycomb ventilation holes beneath the segmental arch. It has a kneelered Dutch gable with three pigeon holes arranged in a triangle, where the sills of the lower two are formed by the platband. There are additions on the north and south faces, each with a platband and brick eaves cornice. A 20th century glazed porch spans the east face, which includes a doorway with a segmental arch. To the left, there is a semicircular window with a vertical glazing bar, along with a shuttered opening above that has a segmental arched head, and a platband. The building is topped with a Dutch gable.
