Description
Gresham Castle is a medieval castle that is now in ruins. A licence to fortify the site was granted in 1319. The castle is constructed of flint and has a square plan with corner turrets. It is situated on a moated site, and the walls currently stand between 1 meter and 3 meters high. The overall dimensions of the castle are approximately 40 meters square, with the corner turrets having a diameter of around 10 meters; three turrets are visible at the northeast, northwest, and southwest corners. Inside the walls, which are now overgrown, the structure serves as a retaining wall for the earth within. The site is designated as a scheduled ancient monument.
