Description
The outbuilding at Flaxmans Farm is a Grade II listed structure, originally built in the 17th century and later modified in the 19th century. It was initially used as a pigsty and features a rectangular plan. The building is constructed from flint with brick dressings and has a Belgian tile roof.
The facade facing the farmyard has two storeys. On the left side, there is a 19th-century doorway, while to the right is a small 17th-century opening that has been fitted with louvres. A brick buttress is present, and adjacent to it is a long timber lintel with a soldier arch, made from possibly 17th-century brick, above an opening that is now partly blocked and has a 19th-century doorway. The first floor features two 17th-century openings, also with louvres, and there is a blocked light on the south gable. The roof has a shallow pitch.
Inside, the beams in the left-hand sty display ogee and nicked stops.
