Description

Number 2, Common Place is a 16th-century building with later alterations. It is timber-framed and has three storeys. The ground floor is finished in stucco, while the first floor is jettied and features vertical close-set studding. An additional second floor has been added, which is also jettied and stuccoed. The roof is covered with black-glazed pantiles, has gable ends, and includes dentilled eaves. On the ground floor, there are two Victorian shop windows with splayed bays, cornices, and a central door. The first floor has two sash windows in moulded cases, and the second floor features two casements also in moulded frames.
